Pencil Lines Sketch #231

I can't believe it's here. My very last sketch with Pencil Lines as part of the Design Team. The past 15 months have been amazing for me. I have grown so much as an artist and scrapbooker, and I can't thank Anna Bowkis enough for providing me with this amazing opportunity. And I can honestly say, I have enjoyed every minute. So here it is - sketch #231.

Here's my take on my very last sketch. Titled: Sugar. I have used lots of Sassafras goodness from the Sweetly Smitten range (papers, stickers, foldies). And I have finished it off with some NEW RELEASE bling from Zva Creative (rhinestone flourish CR-04CA-128). I added masking tape to my background paper, and coloured it with Glimmermist. I also splattered the Glimmermist over the page.

Beautiful coloured flowers and butterflies - who can resist these when they look like cotton candy colours?

And the much talked about Foldies from Sassafras. Not sure about my feelings where these are concerned - I'm still playing and getting used to them. So the jury is still out on these. (-:

Pencil Lines Sketch #230

I cannot believe how quickly time has been passing. Next week is my last week with Pencil Lines. Mmmm...might have to do something special for my layout??? So here is my take on this week's sketch. Titled: Love These Girls. Yeah, I know, I've gone and used white, aqua and red again. I just can't help myself, lol!!!! I just adore those colours mixed together. My blue rhinestone flourish was the wrong shade of blue, so I simply coloured it with a copic pen to get a rich shade of aqua. Don't you just love being able to do that? Products used: My Mind's Eye papers; Scrap Matts hipboard; Prima flowers; Zva Creative rhinestone flourish; Zva Creative paper roses; Maya Road chipboard; American Craft Thickers; Glimmermist (Jazz Blue); masking tape; gesso; and Opal Dust.

Pencil Lines Sketch #229

Over at Pencil Lines this week, we have sketch #229. Our guest designer is the lovely, and very talented, Tanya Tahir (another Aussie girl, yay!!!). I hope this sketch inspires you to come and join in the fun.

Here's my take on the sketch. Titled: Cute As... These are my new Harmonie papers (from Canada). My dear friend Ness (Scrap With V owner) tracked them down for me. I can't thank her enough because I just love these papers. They are kind of a cross between Bo-Bunny and Prima. Other products used: alphas from AC Thickers; and flower centres are from Prima.

Just A Little Something...

to share. I created this using a Pencil Lines sketch and the "Truly Scrumptious" kit from Noel Mignon. These are not the usual colours that I would play with, but I love the end result. I thought it was a good challenge to push myself out of my comfort zone again. (-:

I've just had a big box of goodies arrive on my doorstep. Do you want to know what was in it? The new Sweetly Smitten Sassafrass range, new Webter's Pages Spring Market, new Prima crystals and trims, some Glitz design papers (which I am absolutely in love with), and all the new Chalkboard colours from Glimmermist. I cannot wait to have some play time!!!!

Pencil Lines Sketch #228

Wow, I can't believe we are up to sketch #228 already. I have been with Pencil Lines since the beginning of 2010 (about 15 months in total), and we only have about 3 more sketches to go until the new Design Team is announced. How exciting is that? No, I have no idea who is going to be on the team - I have to wait just like everyone else. (-: But what I can tell you, is that this week's Guest Designer, is the amazing Nicole Pomeroy - one of my favourite scrappers (I'm a stalker - I stalk her blog all the time, lol!!!). Come on, make sure you drop by and check out all the inspiration from Nicole and the DT.

I had fun with this week's sketch because I got to play with some of the new Prima papers. Aren't they gorgeous!!! I just love the colours. My layout is titled "A Good Decision To Glow". (It's a play on the fact that I decided to have photos taken late in my first pregnancy, and the fact that I think I actually did glow). The rhinestone flourish and pearls are from Zva Creative (who else!!!), and I have outlined my die cut paper with Liquid Pearls (a new favourite product).

It's my week off over at Pencil Lines, but I decided to join in the fun anyway. I usually just can't help myself, and sketch #227 was no exception. The guest designer this week is Francine Couldon. This is my take on this week's sketch. Titled: Happy Princess. I have used the "Truly Scrumptious" kit from Noel Mignon. Am I allowed to admit that this is now one of my favourite layouts EVER??? It kind of came together by accident, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I love the mix of Pink Paislee, Amercian Crafts, and Fancy Pants papers. They just work so well together. And the hessian, masking tape, and gesso - oh me, oh my, talk about texture. Love! Love! Love! (-:

Here's my layout for this week's sketch. I went with bright, pink and girly from the new Echo Park range. Titled: Good Morning Fuzzy (it's about my youngest's curly, fuzzy bed-hair that greets me every morning).

I'm starting to feel normal again after a week of dealing with flu germs. So today, I'm off to clean my house, and then some shopping with my girls after school. Hopefully, I can follow all this with some scrapping tonight. (-: It's good to be back to routine...

The moment I saw it, I fell in love with this week's sketch over at Pencil Lines. Who could resist when it has a banner? Sketch #225 has endless possibilities, and the Pencil Lines DT have created an amzing range of layouts to prove it. And our talented Guest Designer this week, is Anthea Peterson, another Aussie gal!

This is my take on the sketch. I surprised myself and decided to have a play with some Amercian Crafts/Dear Lizzy papers. I've always been at a loss on how to use their papers, but I think I finally worked it out. (-: My layout is titled "The Music In My Heart". Other products used: Zva Creative rhinestone flourishes, bulk 3D flowers, rhinestone strips and clear rhinestones; Dusty Attic chipboard; Hambly Transparency; Prima alpha stickers and stamp;and Martha Stewart punches. My background (behind the photo, and of which most of it is now covered), was created with a stamp, some embossing ink, and a little Glimmermist.

This is my take on this week's sketch. Titled: Hello Princess. I decided something new was in order for the New Year. So I broke out the mesh, the texture paste, masking tape, and some Glimmermist, and went for it. I simply placed the mesh in my desired position on the page, added some masking tape, and pasted texture paste (mixed with Glimmermist) all over it. I also added some Doodlebug glitter. And sprayed another colour of glimmermist over top. I then added a transparency, some paper, some Zva Creative rhinestone flourishes (CR-03CA-115), and some embellishements, and it was done. (-:

As many of you already know, I don't do 8.5" x 11". Don't get me wrong, I have tried layouts that size in the past, but they frustrated me. I am a 12" x 12" girl, and always will be. So I adapted the sketch to suit my layout. Titled: Supermodel 101. My apologies now for using the same photos as last week's layout for Pencil Lines. I didn'tt realise until it was too late. (-: I'm an emotional scrapper - I go with what feels right, and these photos were right for this layout. As you can see, I've been playing with my Glimmermists and Sassafrass products again! (-: Yummy, yummy stuff!!! LOL!

This is sketch #215, and our guest designer this week is Jennifer Matott. This is my take on the sketch. Titled: No Fear (it is about Keana's first day at school). When I first looked at this sketch I was really uncertain about what to do, but once I saw this Sassafrass paper, I knew exactly what I wanted to create. This layout came together so easy - which doesn't happen often. (-: I normally have to think and play a little harder before I figure out what I want to do. I can honestly say this layout is in my top 10 favourites for this year. Products used: Sassafrass papers, felt embellishments, chipboard alphas and stickers.

I went with "cute" this week. (-: I haven't done cute in quite a while. So, here's my take on the sketch - "Hunting For Wild Things". I broke out my Basic Grey papers, buttons, stickers and chipboard (which has been neglected recently). And added a couple of felt shapes that I think are from Sassafrass??? I didn't feel like sewing, so I faked the stitching and borders. I hand drew them. (-: I'm quite happy with the end result (especially since it had me worried at the start of the layout, lol!!!). Right. I'm off to clean the house...sigh! But then I can scrap!!! (-:

Here's my take on the sketch. Titled: Hello Crazy. I've used Hambly transparencies and glimmermist to create my background. I've added some masking tape and machine stitching. Then I've finsihed off with some Zva Creative goodies: pearl flourish (PEB-02CB-112), rhinestone strips (CR-01CB-111 and CRo1CB113), pearl brads (BRBK02CA103), rhinestones (CR01CB101) and silk flowers (FL01CB106, FL01CB112 and FL01CB113). The journalling spots are from Jillibean soup, and the photo corner stickers are from October Afternoon. Alphas are from American Crafts (Thickers) and Carolees Creations. The stamps are from Pink Paislee - House of 3 - Anthologie.

Wow! We are already up to sketch #210 over at Pencil Lines. I can't believe time has flown past so quickly!!! Our guest designer this week is Michelle Lanning (Yay! I'm a huge fan!!!).

Here's my layout for this week. Titled: 5 Hours Of Fun. I've used lots of Sassafrass goodies - papers, stickers, alphas and chipboard. And of course, some Zva Creative pearls and rhinestones for my compulsory touch of bling!!! (-: I've also used the Zva Creative foam dots to raise my flowers and banners for more depth and definition - I'd be lost without those things! Seriously, I use them on nearly every layout that I make.
