Explore. Dream. Discover...

Has anyone used one of the recent Fancy Pants paper packs? They come with lots and lots of banner flags. I love banners, but wasn't quite sure what to do with so many flags, or in so many different sizes. And then it hit me - make the banner flags the background feature!!!
(And use up nearly all the flags in one go, lol!)
"Explore, Dream, Discover"
How did this layout come about? Well, I had some left over hand-made flowers from a tutorial I have just completed (coming soon), and I had just received my new Crafter's Workshop stencils in the mail. Now, since I HATE to throw anything out, I decided I'd just have to create a layout and use up all the flowers I had made. And I decided I could play with a new stencil at the same time. :-)

I seem to be addicted to die cuts (leaves and photo corners). I am gathering so many but they can make all the difference to a page - they give a beautiful finishing touch.

Lots of flags for my background. I outlined them all with a Sakura Souffle pen.

And I promise, I'll share my flower tutorial with you all in a few days. :-)
Happy scrapping!
Hugs and kisses. x

Mixing Old And New...

Today I am sharing my PaperHaus Valentinie's Day project. I thought I would use Valentine's Day as my inspiration for my project. But not in a traditional way. Not everyone celebrates Valentine's Day, so this layout is especially for those who don't. And as a bonus, I thought I would inspire you to use some of those really, really old items that you have hidden in your scrapping stash.
(Don't deny it, I know you do!!!).

I love the colours combinations that are used for Valentine's Day (pinks and reds especially), and the flowers and hearts that can be seen in every shop window. So I took all that, and created a layout about my daughters, and how sweet they are. And I used hearts and flowers as my main embellishments. I am extremely happy with the end result - I don't have to create a romantic layout to play with all the Valentine's Day paper ranges, that have been released.

The beauty of this project was taking all these beautiful new papers, and mixing them with some really old items from my stash. They worked together so amazingly well! I've had that round Prima flower in my stash for at least 3 years. And those Heidi Swapp pink ghost hearts? Well, they have been around for 4-5 years, if not longer.

And those Girl's Paperie flags? Yes, they've been around for a while. Just like the Making Memories glittered clear frame, and chipboard photo corners. I know they have been in my stash for at least 3-4 years.

So don't be scared to mix old and new products. You might be surprised just how well some things work together. (Plus, if you use up your old stash, it makes room for some new stash! Bonus!!!)".

Products List: Noel Mignon Lasting Love kit; Making Memories chipboard corners; Making Memories paper clip; Making Memories glittered clear frame; Heidi Swapp ghost shapes; Prima flowers; The Girls' Paperie paper flags; Martha Stewart punches; Pink Paislee tags; Zva Creative rhinestones; Cheery Lynn doily die; Kindy Glitz; black pen.

Happy scrapping everyone, and enjoy your weekend.
Thanks for stopping by.

Noel Mignon Layout Tag Challenge...

I've been a long-time fan of the Noel Mignon kits. I just adore them. Noel always packs them full of beautiful goodies, some of which we do not get, (or may be hard to get), over here. I love any excuse to play with these kits. (And no, I am not payed to say this, lol!).

Here's the layout I created for the Noel Mignon Summer Layout Tag challenge that was just completed. I used the January Soda Shoppe kit to create this layout (it has lots of beautiful colours in it).
But be warned - if you purchase one of these kits - they are VERY, VERY addictive. :-)

Happy scrapping everyone.

Paperhaus Valentine's Day Card...

By no stretch of the imagination am I a card-maker! I usually leave that to my other scrappy friends who are so inclined. But occasionally, I experiment, and surprise myself. :-)

I created this card for the Valentinie's Day Card Inspiration post that you can find here on the PaperHaus blog. The Design Team have come up with several cards to assist with your Valentine's Day inspiration.

I've seen several cards on Pinterest recently, that have featured die cut windows with lamp posts, cats, brick walls, curtains, flowers etc. So I took my inspiration from those cards, and came up with this. (I even added curtains, lol!!!). :-)

Are you all ready for Valentine's Day tomorrow?

Happy scrapping!!!

February Monthly Challenges...

Each month I upload a new sketch and a new colour inspiration picture up on my blog. This month, I am running very late due to quite a few family issues that will require my attention over the next 6 months or so. But I guess it's better that I'm late, than never!!! :-)

Here's my February Sketch.
Please feel free to use it for any layout creation.
All I ask is that you give me credit if you use my sketch.

And here's the colour inspiration photo that I found on Pinterest.
Don't you just love those colours together!
(Yes, I know I don't usually like purple but that's the whole idea of challenging myself - to use colours I wouldn't usually choose for myself).

Happy scrapping!!!
I'm off to have some fun.

All Your Heart Canvas...

Now don't everyone go and fall off their chairs, but I have actually completed a canvas for my Imaginarium Designs February project. Yes, I know it's a long way from a layout, but I guess I am starting to slowly spread my wings.

I usually create two projects each month, but because this one took me a lot longer than expected (it is only my second ever canvas), I am only sharing this one project for February. I can proudly say both my girls love this, and both want to take it to school for "show and tell". What a wonderful way to make their mummy feel proud and honoured. :-)

Yes, I used Hessian for the hat, and a metal charm bow for the hat decoration.

And yes, I've even used sequins on my canvas. And guess what? I love them!!! :-)
If you would like more details on the products I used to create this canvas, and more photos and details, please drop by the Imaginarium Designs blog. You can find much more information on the ID blog.

Thank-you so much for dropping by.
I hope you have enjoyed this project.

Happy scrapping everyone!!! xx

SWAT February Sketch...

I cannot believe it is already February. Man, the time has gone quick. It will be Christmas again before we know it, lol! ;-) But a new month, means a new sketch and twist challenge over at SWAT.

February Sketch (designed by me). The twist is to use texture past on your layout.

"SERIOUSLY CUTE"

I decided to try something a little different and play with a grey background. Yes, I like the result. :-)
I wonder what other grey colour combinations I can come up with?

I have used texture paste with a Crafter's Workshop mask to create the arrows down the side of the photo. To finish them off, I have simply sprayed them with Graphite Glimmer Mist and Maya Road Silver Antique Mist.

I finally got to use this butterfly. Yay for me!!! It's only been in my stash for 3 years or so, lol!!!
Better late than never.

PRODUCTS USED: Imaginarium Designs chipboard alphas; Crafter's Workshop mask; Prima Mask; Couture Creations flowers; washi tape; Making Memories felt flowers; prima flower centres; Tattered Angels Glimmermist; Maya Road Mist spray; and Sassafras alphabet stickers.

Here's looking forward to a great weekend of crafting. x
