Taking A Class With Fiona Paltridge...

Just over a week ago, I attended the annual Escape To Create Retreat (E2C2015) at Port Lincoln. This is always one of my highlights of my year. I love catching up with so many friends, scrapping until all hours, and eating some of the most fabulous food ever!!!

But this year, I decided to do something different. I decided to take one of the classes offered by one of the E2C teachers, Fiona Paltridge.

Can I just say, I loved this class!!! Here is a scrapbook artist who is not scared to do things here way. Fiona doesn't own a trimmer, so she rarely cuts anything straight, and doesn't measure anything either. She just uses her hands and fingers to get an idea of how wide or long something should be. It made me realise, just how much we all rely on rulers and trimmers, and that everything must be specific. I love the freedom her style of scrapping represents.

I fell in love with the colours, layers, and details. If you enjoy lumpy, bumpy work, this is perfect.

Oh, and the bling? Yeah, I just had to add my own touch. :)

Cards and Tags For Imaginarium Designs...

Wow, life has been SO busy! My hubby is home between jobs, so we are trying to make the most of the family time together (as a big break between jobs doesn't happen often). My bestie Annette Gearside came down to spend 10 fabulous days with me, and to attend the annual Escape 2 Create retreat at Port Lincoln. We seriously had the best time EVER!!!!!
But now it is time to go back to reality. :)

So, I thought I had better start by catching up by sharing a card and tag that I created for Imaginarium Designs. The Design Team project theme for March was Cards and Tags, so these two pretties are my contribution. If you would like to see some of the other projects created by the team, just click here, on the Imaginarium Designs blog link.

You all know how much I love colour, so I had an absolute blast playing and creating this tag. Every time I create something like this, I remember why I love spray mists sooooo much. :) No wonder my collection keeps growing.
Keeping it short today, as I still have a lot to get done on my "To Do" list today.
Thanks for stopping by,

March Projects for Imaginarium Designs

Just taking a quick moment to share a couple of my March projects for Imaginarium Designs (I'll have more to share at the end of the month). So, here goes...

My first project was a layout I created using Lemoncrafts's Heart Painted paper range. Do you have any idea how much I am in love with this range, and all their other paper's? Let's just say, I have learnt the hard way - next time order TWO of each pack!!! ;-)

I used a small ID chipboard tag to create a little cluster on my page. I then added a frame and Denise's Art Deco embellishment's. I originally tried creating this layout all in shades of pink and green, but found it was too overwhelming. So I decided to add touches of gold, that have been toned down a notch with white ink. I love the overall effect it has created.

I did lots of fussy cutting, and of course I added flowers and butterflies. I used the ID Monarch butterfly, coated it with Rose Embossing Enamel, and finished it off with a cut out butterfly, a Prima rhinestone, and a little glitter.

Lots of texture, and lots of softness.

And I thought I would shock everyone and do a card, lol! Yeah, I know, I struggle with cards, and don't do them often, but the more I practice, the better I get at it. And I have to admit, this one came together rather easily, so I was very happy. :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you are having an awesome day.
