Here's my take on the sketch. I've used bits and pieces out of two a Noel Mignon kits (Sonoma County and Lemonade Stand) and some Hambly stickers to create this layout. Plus a little Heidi Swapp, Kaisercraft, AC Thickers, and a Prima rose. Titled: Faith Together.

(-: Yes, I am loving every minute of working with these products. Sassafrass and bling - what more could a girl ask for???This layout is titled "The Perfect Pair".

It's Nearly Here!

Scared Silly!!!

This is sketch 188 over at Pencil Lines this week. And our guest designer is Lori Bucaria from Italy. Now, I can honestly say, when I first saw this sketch, it scared me silly. I think I nearly started to hyperventilate. This sketch is so, NOT ME!!! But as a DT member, I know I have to face my fears, and do justice to the sketch. It took me several days of just looking at, and thinking about the sketch, before I was actually game enough to play with it.

And this is what I came up with. I can say, without a doubt, that I love the end result. I know this isn't exactly my usual style of scrapping, but for some reason, this layout just seems to work for me. I've used lots of October Afternoon goodness on this layout, and some Peacock Blue Chalk Glimmermist on my background. Simply titled "Easter". Don't forget to drop by at Pencil Lines and say hello. The DT have come up with some amazing creations this week, and you might even want to challenge yourself with the sketch. (-: Happy scrapping!!!

Something To Share...

I'm back from a wonderful retreat up at Mapleton. Lots of lovely ladies, and lots of fun (except for the severe headache I woke up with on Saturday morning and had until about 11pm that night!!!). That was hard to deal with, but I persevered, and here's a few of my creations from the weekend. I've used Noel Mignon kits for all my layouts, and just added bits and pieces as needed. The blue misted background is Glimmermist Chalk in Peacock Blue. Titled: Find Your Groove.

I created this layout for the current Noel Mignon challenge. The details for the challenge can be found here. Titled: To Love You This Fiercely. The quotes are from the advertisement that was used as inspiration for the challenge. And yes, I've used more Glimmermist chalk. This time in yellow - I just couldn't help myself. It's my new favourite thing!!! (-:

This layout was created for the current sketch that is up over at Crafty Sketches. You can find the sketch here. Why not check it out and join in the fun? The competition closes at the end of May, so you still have a week to create your own masterpiece. You've got to be in it, to win it!!! (-:

Secrets...

I've got a secret! Something that I can't wait to share with you...but not just yet. You have to wait two weeks. Then all will be revealed...(-:

In the meantime, I'm off to a scrapbooking retreat this weekend, up at Mapleton. Then another one in two weeks up at Caloundra. Yes, I'm a busy little bee at the moment. But I am looking forward to catching up with some friends that I haven't seen in ages, having a good laugh, and enjoying some good food. And here's to lots and lots of uninterrupted scrapping!!! (-:

Happy Birthday Honey!!!

Guess who turns 44 today?
Happy Birthday Antonio!!! With all my love and kisses.
What's changed since we first met? He's a father, he's much greyer, and he now wears glasses. What's the same? His patience with me and his love of food (some things never change - thank-goodness!!!)
And in honour of this, I thought I would pull out some really old layouts to share with you. (-:
Titled: If You Could Change 3 Things.

Titled: Tony

Titled: Why? (Yes, I know I'm a meanie at times!!! LOL!!!).

Titled: Man At Work.
Here's to many more wonderful birthdays, honey!!!

Layout Leftovers!

I love creating layouts with left-overs from other layouts. Here I've used the other half of a Hambly transparency that I used on my Pencil Lines layout. And left-over October Afternoon papers from my B.F.F. layout. Waste not, want not!!! (-: Titled: Summer Beauty.

Pencil Lines Sketch 187...

Here is sketch 187 over at Pencil Lines. Our guest designer is Jane Jones (another Aussie girl!). Please come and join us for some fun and check out the inspiration from the Design Team.

And here's my take on the sketch. This layout came together fairly easy. I knew I wanted to use bright colours to match the Hambly transparency, so I went with Rouge De Garance. And some Prima flowers for the finishing touch - sprayed with glimmermist. Titled: Funny Little Goose. The background paper is Rose Moka.

Back To Simple...

Thought I would try out that whole simple style of scrapbooking again. Just for something different! (-: Plus the colours in this photo are kind of strong, so I knew I had to keep this simple and clean, otherwise the photo would be lost in all the papers and embellishments. I've also used some Zva Creative products. Thought I would start warming up for when my box of goodies arrives. (-: The flowers are cut from October Afternoon and the rainbow border is Sassafrass.

Prima April BAP...

The Prima April BAP winner has been announced over on the Prima blog. I didn't win, but my layout did get a mention. (-: Got to be happy with that!

Back To The Advertisement...

Some of my readers may remember this advertisement I did for Buyster.com here (which outlines all my reasons behind agreeing to the advertisement). Well, here's the product I received. And yes, it works, and yes, I am happy with it. I have sharpened all my knives and I can now slice tomatoes with ease. My mum came to visit recently, and didn't once complain about my knives being blunt. Absolute bliss!!! (-: So a big thank-you to buyster.com for my new kitchen gadget.

He's A V.I.P.!!!

My hubby is NEVER going to forgive me for doing this layout! But I just couldn't help myself. (-: I've used lots of My Little Shoebox for this one. Titled: V.I.P. (Very Important Princess). The pink background is the new release Chalk Glimmermist spray from Tattered Angels. It's my new favourite - I like it even more than the normal Glimmermist. I've just ordered the whole range of colours - waiting for them to arrive so I can play!!!

We have a new tradition - on Wednesday nights, after my girls have finished their art lessons, I take them to Sizzlers (their absolute favourite restaurant EVER!!!). It's easier than trying to rush home and get dinner cooked when it has already been such a long day. And they eat, and eat and eat. And then eat some more. (-: I don't know how to little girls can each so much without exploding...seriously!!!

I captured a few photos this afternoon on the Redcliffe waterfront while waiting for my girls to finish their art leassons. I thought I would share them with you. I haven't edited these at all.

Isn't the sky such a pretty soft colour? So gorgeous.

I think this one is my favourite. I can't wait to scrap these.

Playing With Kits...

I've been playing with my kits again.
Here I've used the Noel Mignon Sonoma County kit (sold out).
Titled: About A Girl.

Pencil Lines Sketch 186

Here's sketch 186 over at Pencil Lines. Our guest designer this week is Teresa Collins. Please drop by, say hello and leave some love. The team have been hard at work creating some amazing layouts for inspiration.

This is my take on the sketch. Titled: Miss Keana. I've used the borders off the Teresa Collins paper to create my black and white paper base (my contribution to recylcing!). The flowers have been hand rolled from matching papers, with bling centres added for some sparkle.

Me, Myself and I Challenge...

I decided to use my new "Playdate" kit (sold out) to create a layout for the Me, Myself and I challenge that is running over at Noel Mignon. The challenge is to create a layout about "your name" and it's orgins/history. That is, the story behind why you were given your name. Products used: Hambly, Sassafrass, Lilly Bee, October Afternoon, Shimmerz Spritz.

Big News!!!

It's celebration time!!! Why? Because I made the Zva Creative DT and I'm over the moon with happiness. (-: Like really, really happy. After all, you can NEVER have too much bling in your life. Or flowers. Or brads. (-: I am really looking forward to getting to know all the other team members (and there are a lot from all around the world). But most of all, I am looking forward to inspiring you with some new layouts and having lots of fun with beautiful products. Here's to a happy day!!!

20 Minute Layout Challenge...

Over at weScrap, Victoria has issued a 20 minute layout challenge using her layout (pictured above) as a sketch to work from.

And here's my take on the challenge. I used my Noel Mignon kit (Sonoma County - sold out) to create the layout. All the Crate Papers worked beautifully together for the layering. With a Hambly Screen transparency used as the base (just for something different). And I added a little bit of bling (Basic Grey and Stickles) for the finishing touches. Titled: Brave Little Girl. Yeah, I know, it's a little different to my usual style. But what can I say? I really like the end result. (-:

Extras For Pencil Lines...

Sketch 154 Pencil Lines

I've completed a couple of extra layouts from the sketches in the archives over at Pencil Lines. Here's my interpretation of the first sketch (#154). I've used some old Bo-Bunny papers and Prima flowers (it feels good to use up my stash at long last!!!). (-: The layout is titled: Becoming 6.

Sketch 165 Pencil Lines

Here's my take on the second sketch (#165). This layout gave me a chance to play with the new Crate Paper range. Isn't it pretty? This layout is titled: Daddy's Little Princess.

Keeping It Simple...

I've come to realise that when participating in crops, I need to change my usual style of scrapping, and keep it simple (not an easy task for me as I love my layouts with details, texture and layering). I can get more challenges completed if I can follow this idea. So here is my first attempt at keeping it simple. This layout is titled "Hush..." and was created for the Recycle Challenge over at the weScrap May Crop. My recylcled item is the Prima packaging.

Can You Spot The Changes?

My two girls decided today was the day for a complete image overhaul. Can you spot the changes they have made? Malayla was a brave little girl and got her ears pierced (at long last - we have been trying to convince her for years!). And she got her hair cut (really short compared to what it used to be). I'm ok with the earrings, but I'm still trying to come to terms with the hair cut. I have to keep reminding myself it will grow back. But I do have to admit, she looks really cute (yes, I know I'm biased)...but as her mother I'm allowed to be. (-:

It may not look like it because of all the curls, but Keana also had all her hair cut off too. Probably 4 -5 inches, all gone. Makes me sad. )-:

After all the hair and earrings excitement, and shopping for 4 hours, I let them relax at the park for a while. I can't believe how different they both look with their new hairstyles.

A Cause Worth Supporting...

Your help is needed here. This is a cause worth supporting - something that I am sure all scrapbooker's would agree on. Do I need to bribe you with a holiday to Greece and some other amazing prizes? This post over at Cocoa Daisy is a must to read. Go, quick go...I'm sure you can spare 5 minutes. (-:
