It's July. The start of a new month (we are over half way to Christmas), and the new sketch is up over at the Aussie Pub Calls Roadmaps site. You have until the 28th July to email your layout.

Here's my take on the sketch - "China Doll". This is the nickname that one of Malayla's carers gave her when she was a baby- and it stuck! (-: It has been her nickname ever since.

This month it was my turn to create a layout or OTP project for the Aussie Pub Calls kit. This month's kit is supplies by Scrapbook n Bits. And this is what I came up with - "My Everyday Princess". I have to admit these colours are not my usual colours, but I am really happy with the end result.

Yay! I actually got it completed. (-: The DT Challenge for the Scrap With V Cyber Crop used the following crieteria:
1. Use a transparency (Jan)
2. Use at least 4 patterned papers, no square or rectangular shapes other then the photo (KerryL)
3. Snowflakes (Pippyn)

Happy Birthday Malayla...

Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Malayla, happy birthday to you!!! Here's the birthday girl - 7 years old today. Time has just gone so quick - I now have a little girl on my hands.
At 9:00pm last night I was still debating on whether to make Malayla a cake like she wanted, or to cheat and buy one from Michel's this morning. By 9:30pm last night I was baking. At 11:00pm last night Tony and I were colouring and shaping presents from fondant icing. Then I iced it and decorated it this morning. I'm glad I went to all the effort because she just LOVED her cake. And that made me very happy. (-:
Here's the birthday party and all the children in attendance. They played so many games, at so much food, and just had the best time ever. Many thanks to The Full Moon Hotel for hosting such a brilliant party.
And mummy just had to get in on the act. As mother of the birthday girl, I decided I was entitled to having my face painted, too. Don't you just love the design? All the painting was done by Wowee Creations. Beautiful work indeed.
So that is one birthday down, and one to go (in September - Keana). I asked her on the way home what she wanted for her birthday theme. Her answer was "Twilight!" She is SO MY GIRL!!! (-: Yay! A Twilight party!!! Her daddy was not as enthusiastic or impressed as I was. Funny that. I wonder if I can pull it off? Oh well, I have two months to try...

Scrap With V Kit Layouts...

These are my final two kit layouts for Scrap With V and are available for sale on the Scrap With V website. My first layout is "Just For You". And it's about this amazing fairy castle cake that I made for Keana's 5th birthday, last year.
The second layout (it's a double layout kit) is "Hush". I have had this picture of Malayla sitting on my desk forever, waiting to be scrapped. And these Doodlebug papers where just perfect for it. I'm happy with how soft and sweet it turned out. (-:

Prep, Crafty Sketches and Layouts for Blossie's...

On the last day of school, the Prep classes celebrated 100 DAYS of Prep. It's hard to believe that my baby has actually been at school for 100 days. She is so happy and comfortable at school, and has made some wondeful friends. Anyway, the children got to play games, sing songs, have cake, and release balloons into the sky as part of the celebrations. So here's Keana moments before they let the balloons go. The children just had the best day. (-:
Here's my layout for Crafty Sketches. I've had more fun playing with my Prima stuff (I just LOVE Prima). Their stuff is so beautiful, and feminine, and delicate, and just layers together so well.
This month's theme for Blossie's is to showcase our favourite manufacturer/brand. So I had to go with the obvious - Heidi Swapp. (I couldn't do Prima as there is nothing in stock at the moment). (-: This is my first layout - "Camouflage?" It's about Othello trying to hide from the girls by pretending to be a stuffed toy (LOL!!!)
My second layout is "Angel", and of course it is about my baby (she's still my baby even if she is taller then her older sister). (-:
And my third layout is "They Are My Crazy Girls". I had fun using the Heidi Swapp masks with this layout. It was good to have a thorough play with all of Heid's stuff. It makes you realise just how much stuff she has and how versatile it is. These layouts were a lot of fun.
