Better Late Than Never

How often do you start a layout but never finish it? Or start a layout and then change the whole direction half way through? This happens to me a lot when I go away to a retreat, or when I get sick. I started this layout back at the end of June, at the Escape 2 Create retreat. It was my first ever attempt to do a Kraft+ challenge. If I remember correctly, June's challenge was to do a monochromatic layout. I got the base done, with the intention of finishing it when I got back home. Yeah, it never happened. So, now I am sharing it a month later, finally completed as a DT project for D-Lish Scraps, and with the challenge requirements for the Kraft+ July challenge (use roses three different ways).

I shared this project (and extra photos) on the D-Lish blog, right here. There are lots of D-Lish goodies on this layout, all available in the D-Lish store, right here

So, I am of the theory, better late than never, lol! At least I can now say I have completed ONE Kraft+ challenge. If I keep my fingers crossed I might be able to make it two. Time will tell.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you are having a lovely scrappy time. xxx

Just An Everyday Selfie...

My daughter's are both selfie queens. I'm kind of jealous because they take such good photos. So, if they offer to take one of us together, I always jump at the chance. I don't usually like photos of myself, but since losing weight, I'm kind of happy to let someone take my photo. And I love having photos of my daughter's and I. These are something I will always treasure because I never took enough when they were younger.

This layout "An Everyday Mother-Daughter Selfie" was created as part of my DT commitments for D-lish Scraps store. You can find more photos and all the details on the D-Lish Scraps blog, right here

I wanted to keep the focus on the photo, so I kept my design simple. And I raided my stash for some vintage paper - this time it was Crate Paper

Thanks for stopping by and joining me. But stay tuned...

I have some exciting scrapbooking news that I will be sharing soon. Make sure you are following me to hear about it first! BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers and happy crafting, xxx

Pink

Sometimes, it is not a photo or pretty papers that makes me want to create a layout, but a product. In this case, it was the Kaisercraft die that created my background for this layout. It had been sitting on my bench since I purchased it, waiting patiently to be "played" with. Now was the time!

This layout was created for my May 26th blog post over at D-Lish Scraps. It features lots of D-Lish goodies such as the wild roses, flairs, star flowers, small roses and journalling spots. Below you will find a few close p images of my project.

Aren't these butterflies just divine? They are from Kaisercraft's All That Glitters paper range.

This die has since become one of my favourites - you can expect to see a lot of it in future projects.

So how do you start your projects? With a photo? With papers? With a product? Or with something totally different? i'd love to know, so please feel free to share.

Thanks for stopping by and joining me, and here's to a great weekend filled with crafting goodness. Cheers and hugs, xxx

Always Be A Queen

So, I'm totally in love with this layout! I decided to try a new scrapping style, and it worked! That's what I love about scrapbooking - the playing and experimenting.

I created "Always Be A Queen" as part of my DT commitments for D-Lish Scraps. It went live on the D-Lish Blog on the 26th June. The papers are the Rossibelle range from Prima (which I have been hoarding for way too long, lol!). Disclaimer: the photo is not mine. It was found on the internet, and I do not know who's it is.

I have splattered a mixture of Glimmermist and Heidi Swapp mists to create my splattered effect.

And of course, a Queen must have a crown. Preferably pink and sparkly. I have used Opal Dust to create the glimmer and sparkles.

Lots of flowers, roses, fussy cutting and layers, with cute little details such as a veneer owl. Isn't he just the cutest? And a texture paste background using the brick wall stencil (found in the D-Lish store).

Thank-you for stopping by and joining me. I hope you are having an awesome scrappy weekend.

Love Layout for D-Lish Scraps

Seriously, can life slow down just a little? Where have the last two months gone??? I actually created this layout for the D-Lish Scraps May Cyber Crop but I'm only just getting around to sharing it on my blog now. Bad, I know!!!

Did you know that D-Lish Scraps have monthly cyber crops? If not, you might want to join us for the next one and have a little fun. There are lots of great challenges, and there are some lovely prizes up for grabs too. Our next Cyber crop begins on the 14th July. Just make sure to join The Scrap Suite on Facebook to be part of all this fun.

For my challenge you were required to use the colours pink, red and white, the word love, at least three hearts, a minimum of three lines of journalling, and washi tape.

This is what I came up with - absolutely thrilled with the end result. And for anyone who may be wondering, I have used The Girl's Paperie papers, from several years ago.

I am loving these flowers and roses - the deep, vibrant shades of red are just divine!!!!

My background was created with a 5x5 stencil. You can find these in the D-Lish Store

Added a little journalling. I'm one of those people that love to add journalling to my layouts. A layout never feels complete to me without a story.

Sigh...more flowers. <3 p="">

Thanks for stopping by and joining me, and I hope to see you at our next Cyber Crop.

Sweet Layout for D-Lish Scraps

Back on the 12th May I shared this SWEET layout on the D-Lish blog. You can find all the extra details RIGHT HERE

For those who may be wondering, that is The Girl's Paperie papers, from many, many years ago. Man, I miss those papers. They were soooooo pretty. Fortunately, in my usual fashion, I've kept a small stash for emergencies, like this! ;-)

The photo of the kitchen is off Pinterest (definitely not my own). If it was my own, it would mean I had my dream kitchen and I'd be too busy cooking up a storm to do any scrapping, lol!

Or maybe I should just buy a ticket in the lotto?
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are having an awesome crafty day!

D-Lish Scraps May Challenge Share...

Can you believe it is May already? That means we are over a third of the way through the year, and only two months until we are half way through the year. YIKES!!!!!

Well, before anymore time passes, I will share my creation for this month's D-Lish Scraps Inspiration challenge. You can find all the details and other inspiration right HERE on the D-Lish Blog

I had a wonderful time playing with these colours because they are not something I would generally choose for myself. Its amazing what you can achieve when you step outside your comfort zone. Yes, I need to do a lot more of this for myself.

So stay tuned - time to spread my wings and grow creatively. :)

I love flower clusters and butterflies. They make a page look so pretty, soft and feminine. Yes,e even with lots of grey, and bold colours, a page can still be soft - it's all about the details.

Do you recognise the paper? I'm trying to use up some of my vintage stash - this is My Mind's Eye, from quite a few years ago.

Thought I would share the Inspiration Board with you - don't forget to pop on over to the D-Lish Blog, right HERE, to join the fun.

Cheers and happy crafting, xxx

Heart And Soul...And A Little Cruising...

Life is just too busy, and there are not enough hours in the day. Seriously, we moved into this house at the end of January, and I still have more than fifty boxes to unpack. Don't judge, lol!!! I'm a scrapbooker who used to own an online store, so I have HEAPS of scrap stuff still packed away. Maybe by the end of the year I will get through it all? Yeah, don't hold your breath. ;-)

It doesn't help that I just spent two weeks teaching on a cruise ship. I really don't feel like unpacking anything now. Yes, I spent most of April cruising around New Zealand and teaching scrapbook lessons aboard the Celebrity Solstice. It was fun apart from the rough seas and seasickness. Blah!!! Want to see some photos?

Did I mention how beautiful New Zealand was? I'd love a house on the hill, just like this. <3 p="">

Glorious sunsets.

The Land Of The Long White Cloud.

Yes, we are definitely going back, and will take the children with us next time. I only wish that our next cruise is longer as there is so much to see and do. And the shopping in Wellington is AWESOME, so you need a full day (or two) there.

And while I was away, my first DT blog post went live over on the D-Lish blog. Yep. Right here

This was my creation for my blog post. There are lots more photos on the blog, so if you want to check them out, just pop over here. I had a great time playing with these Kaisercraft papers, and have decided to turn this layout into a kit for purchase. This kit will be available for sale from the 27th April, and it will be two layouts for $25, with full instructions. Check back then for photos and details.

I have actually decided to try and release a minimum of two kits a month. So check back on the 12th and 27th of the month for kit releases.

Thanks for stopping by today, and here's to having a scrappy good time!!!

D-Lish Designs April Challenge...

Hello everyone! Welcome to April. Do you realise we are now a quarter of the way through the year...OMG!!!!! I think this year is going to be one of those "blink and you'll miss it" years. So, before time gets away from me anymore, I wanted to share some news with you. I am proud to announce that I am now a Design Team member for D-Lish Scraps and today, I am sharing my layout for the D-Lish April Challenge. You can find all the details right here, and the sketch and inspiration board is at the bottom of my blog post too.

I don't scrap boy layouts (very, very rarely) so when I saw the colours for the challenge, I thought tis would be an interesting challenge for me - to create a feminine layout using primary colours. Well, I think I succeeded. :) I'm really happy with the finished product.

The bonus with creating this layout is the amount of old product I was able to use from my stash - old Crate Paper, old felt alphas from Making Memories, and old Prima chipboard.

Can you see all the beautiful D-Lish goodies that I have used? Flowers, sequins, wire, doilies, flairs, and punchinella. All these products can be purchased in the D-Lish Scraps store

So, who's going to join me for this month's challenge? Come on, I dare you! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by, and I look forward seeing you again soon.

Happy scrapping!!!
