What Do You Consider Vintage?

How old do scrapbook papers have to be, before they are considered vintage? I have soooo many beautiful paper ranges that I haven't played with yet - they are just sitting on my shelf gathering dust. It's not that I don't want to - I do - it's more a matter of not having enough hours in the day to get everything done. Take the following Echo Park "Victoria Gardens" papers. I purchased the kit when the range was first released, and I am only now getting to play with them - so does that make them vintage? How long ago was this  paper range released?

I created this layout for no particular reason. :-) I simply felt like it. I decided it was time just to play and have fun. Without expectations or DT commitments.
Titled: This Is Their Story

You all know I love bling, glitter, and sparkly things. I can't help myself - I just have to add it to every layout. And this layout is no exception, lol! My Imaginarium Designs chipboard butterflies are coated with Doodlebug Glitter. I created the butterfly centres with liquid Pearls.

And since the layout is about my daughters, I couldn't go past the Imaginarium Designs hanging dress form. How sweet and girly is this? Yes, more Doodlebug Glitter, and Zva Creative rhinestones.

To create my end flourishes, I simply cut an Imaginarium Designs border flourish in half, painted it with Twinkling H2O's, and layered another frame flourish on top (also painted with Twinkling H2O's).

I love how all the detail and texture have come together in this layout. It turned out even better than what I had envisioned in my head, and for that I am grateful.
I have added this to my list of "Favourite Ever Layouts"!!!

Scrapping For Sanity...

Sometimes I need to be able to scrap, without having to think about what I am doing. It is my method of keeping myself sane (or at least as sane as I can be). I've got so much going on in my life at the moment, and my poor brain is in overload - so I scrap for the pure joy of scrapping. Not for a Design Team commitment, not for a manufacturer, not for a challenge, and not for a class kit. And not even for a layout to add to my albums - because those layouts still require me to think. This is where the joy of pre-made layouts come in - you can scrap with any papers, any themes, any colours, and just add the photos later.

I found some old Sandylion Kelly Panacci papers and chipboard embellishments and whipped these up. It was so soothing just to play, to move things around until they were where I wanted them, without worrying about colours, products, or requirements. You can find this pre-made layout in my Scrapbook Kits With A Difference store.

And another one that I created. This pre-made layout is in my store too. And guess what? I still have heaps of paper and embellishments left over, so I think I know what I'll be doing tonight. And that makes me happy. Just for a few days, everything else can wait.

Sketches With A Twist July Challenge...

Right, here we go!
My first ever digitally designed sketch for Sketches With A Twist (SWAT).
I really hope you all like it.

SWAT July Sketch - The twist is that you must add doodling to your layout.

And here's my take on the sketch. Titled: FUR.
I've added doodling around the edges of the photos, and the edges of the wire.
I've used lots of Imaginarium Designs chipboard (wire and alphabet); Amarican Crafts papers; Martha Stewart doilies; and washi tape.
So who's coming over to play with me this month?

Crafty Sketches July Sketch...

Yay, it's finally here - the first day of the month! Now I can share some of my creations, lol!

Let's start with the July Sketch over at Crafty Sketches.
This month, the team have decided to use a Beggahuna sketch.

This is my take on the sketch. Yes, I was quite liberal with it, lol!
Titled: My Shoe Love
(See, sometimes I do scrap about other things other then my two girls).
I've used lots of Imaginarium Designs chipboard (frames and alphabets); Hambly transparancy; Zva Creative rhinestone flourishes; Prima flowers; washi tape; Glimmermist (Jazz Blue); Crafter's Workshop mask; Maya Road journalling blocks; Doodlebug glitter; and various rub-ons.
