Imaginarium Designs And Manor House Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Imaginarium Designs and Manor House blog hop!

It just can't get any better - exquisite chipboard and beautiful flowers combined, to bring you endless inspiration!

MY GIRLS
I wanted to use modern, non-traditional colours to show how versatile the ID chipboard and Manor House flowers can be on a layout. Yes, this layout is about my girls - but there is not an ounce of pink or pastel in sight. Yet, it still clearly says that it is a girly layout.
(At least my youngest will be happy - she's not a fan of pink, lol!!!)

I had such a glorious time mixing the Imaginarium Designs chipboard with the Manor House flowers.
They are so pretty and feminine. Exquisite little things, indeed!!!
What makes them so perfect is the mix of sizes - big, small, and everything in between.

I love these Lotus flowers - they are stunning!
And with a spray of Dazzling Diamond Glimmermist, they sparkle beautifully!!!

I created this finish on my Imaginarium Designs chipboard title using red glitter embossing powder. I am in love with this stuff - it creates such an amazing finish and colour.

A squirt of glimmermist, and a little kindy glitz, to add that extra sparkle and shine to my flowers.

I used the large and small Imaginarium Designs oval chipboard frames as my main focus points in this layout.
I inked them, then coated them with clear embossing powder to create a glossy finish. Then a few rhinestones, and some liquid pearls, to add the finishing touches.

Washi Tape Background...

I love washi tape because it is so versatile.
But recently, I've had several people ask me "what do you use washi tape for?".
So today, I am sharing a simple washi tape tutorial with you over on the PaperHaus Blog.

Creating a washi tape background is one of the easiest things to do. All it involves is placing strips of washi tape wherever your heart desires. In my case, I layered some strips vertically (damask pattern), followed by more strips horizontally (clouds).

Some people may think why bother? But this is why - instead of a plain, boring background, you are adding texture, depth and colour with these strips of tape (you can also create backgrounds with masks, spray mists, paint, tissue paper, texture paste, embossing, etc.).

For full details please pop on over to the PaperHaus blog.

Here's the final creation - and to think, all this started with some simple strips of washi tape. :-)
Titled: Love You To The Moon And Back.

Can you see that pink swirly thing in the background? \That was originally a brown felt fence from Prima. I painted it with gesso, inked it with a coral-pink, then added tatered Angels Glimmer Glam on top. Yep, it's definitely not brown anymore, lol!

And I've even coloured the Ingvilde Bolme (Prima) resin embellishment. I added some Glimmermist, a little Glimmer Glam, and some Kindy Glitz.

For the full materials list and all the details on this layout, please head on over to the Paperhaus Blog. You'll find lots of other inspiration over there too! :-)

Not All Fluff And Sweetness...

For some of my readers and followers, the following may be disturbing. For that, I am truly sorry. But people need to know and understand that animal rescue isn't all fluff and sweetness. It is sad, heart-breaking, and at times horrifying. What humanity can do to a defenceless animal is truly terrifying and stomach-turning. I work for a Cat Rescue and Foster Society in Adelaide (Flick's). I'm going to share what two carers had to endure last night. But it pales in comparison to what this cat must have had to endure during it's lifetime. Pierre was a stray rescued from a feral cat colony late last night.

"I'm about to cry or throw up or both. Tonight I received what is easily my worst rescue. I didn't look better until now and I'm horrified. This cat is covered in wounds and fly blown - yes he has maggots on him. He is purring and smooching me... It's more horrible than words. They are everywhere and inside him. We were pulling them out of his leg...inside of it. After they shaved him we could see the extent. They were all inside him. He was in a horrible state, words honestly can't describe it" . Felicity.

"It' was easily the worst thing I've seen in my life....they were deep inside him, his tail was fat with them...through is back, and through his leg. It was just horrific. I hope we never ever see another kitty in that condition again". Sofie.

In the end, the veterinary staff decided Pierre was too weak, and too far gone, to endure and recover from surgery. Pierre was put to sleep. :-( At least now, his agony has ended.

So the next time that you complain that I am late sending out an order, please consider why. This is what I do. And it is not easy. It is heart-breaking and tiring. But it is most rewarding when you see a fostered kitty finally accept love, and go to his furever home. That is what we aim for.

Well, Hello Grunge!!!

I decided to take a walk on the wild side, and try something different. I love Finnibair's style of scrapping, and used that as my inspiration for this layout. The main difference is that I have added lots and lots of bling and sparkle to mine, lol!

"MAGIC IN THE AIR"
I created this layout as part of my November DT projects for Imaginarium Designs. You can find a full run down of my techniques and photos on the Imaginarium Designs blog. (And if you leave a comment on the ID blog, you will be in the running to win some fabulous ID chipboard goodies!!!).

Here's a close-up and some details of what I did with the chipboard.
Lots of layering, texture, and bling. Sigh...it makes me happy. :-)
Thanks for stopping by.
Happy scrapping!!!

Bright And Cheerful...

Just a quick share of a quick layout.
I wanted to keep this one simple because of all the colours and patterns.

It's funny, when chevron first became the rage, I didn't like it, but it has definitely grown on me.

Products used: October Afternoon papers, chipboard and stickers.
Thanks for dropping by. :-)

SWAT November Reveal...

Here's the sketch that I have designed for November. Just something a little different, lol!
This month's twist is to use stamps somewhere on your layout.

Here is my take on the sketch. Titled: You Are Loved 24/7.
And for those who may be curious, no, I don't have an idea of a layout in my head when I design a sketch. I design the sketch first, then create the layout - so no, it won't always be identical to the sketch. But that's the beauty of sketches - they are "jumping off" points for your inspiration.

Products Used: Kaisercraft papers; Zva Creative pearl flourishes; AC Thickers; OA alpha stickers; The Girls' Paperie stamps; Black Staz-On Ink; Kaisercraft rub-ons; manilla tag; Zva Creative foam dots; and Kindy Glitz.

Thank-you for stooping by and I hope you are having an awesome weekend.
Me? I'm going to get some scrapping time in. :-)

Monthly Sketches and Inspiration...

I've decided that at the beginning of every month, I'm going to upload a sketch that I have designed, and a photo that I have found on Pinterest, as a way to help inspire my creativity (and hopefully it will inspire you too!). Sometime during the month, I will create a layout using the sketch, and a layout using the photo as inspiration, then upload and share.

If you would like to join in, you are more than welcome. I would love to see your creations - just post your  link here, and I will come and visit. (Please make sure it is a direct link to your layout, and not to your blog in general).

Here's my November sketch.
Please feel free to use this sketch, but please remember to give credit for my design.

And here's the Pinterest photo (by Dirk Wustenhagen) that I have chosen for November. I just adore the colours in this photograph (oranges, aquas, and browns). Plus that amazing texture and design from the bridge. I cannot wait to see how this inspires me (I've already got ideas swirling in my head)!!!

And don't forget to leave me a link if you decide to join in the fun. :-)

PaperHaus November Sketch

The new Sketch-For-The-Month is up over at Paperhaus.
November Sketch designed by Linda Brun

Here's my take on the November sketch. I've used Carta Bella papers and stickers, and kept the design simple (although cutting out all those circles did take a while, lol!)
Titled: Beautiful Moments With You.

Don't forget to pop on over to the PaperHaus blog and see the rest of the team's inspirational layouts - they are all very different and amazing.

Thanks for stopping by.
I hope you join in the fun with our November Sketch - I'd love to see what you create (don't forget to link your creations to the PaperHaus blog post).

A Halloween First...

Well, there's a first time for everything, lol! This time, it was my first ever off-the-page Halloween project for PaperHaus. Since we don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia, I've never bothered creating any projects for this celebration. But all that changed this year!

I wasnt sure if I wanted to laugh or cry when I found out my October project for PaperHaus had to be a Halloween theme. Me? Do Halloween? Really? Bwahahahahahaha!!! Yep, that was pretty much my reaction. But since I love nothing better than a challenge, I jumped in, and came up with a Halloween banner.

You can find all the details on the PaperHaus blog. I share extra photos and details on how to create your own banner (it's really easy!).

Hugs and more hugs,
