Christmas In July...

My July project for Imaginarium Designs is a little different this month - I created a Christmas Tree. Why? Because I felt like it, and because I can, lol! An idea will often get stuck in my head, and I have learnt to just go with the flow. This time around it was a Christmas Tree in July. :-)

If you pop on over to the Imaginarium Designs blog, you will find a tutorial with step-by-step instructions for creating this tree (original design created by Vanessa Waller). And if you leave a comment on the post, you will automatically be entered into the draw to win a pack of Imaginarium Designs goodies. (Why are you still here? Quick, go and leave a comment!).

I won't lie - this took a while to create. It's not that it's hard to create, because it isn't. It's just that cutting the paper and making the loops takes forever (unless you have a couple of young scrappers on hand that you can bribe to help you). :-) In which case things move a little quicker!

It was good to finally use up all these papers (Eskimo Kisses) from Basic Grey. I have been hanging on to them for a special project - and this was it. Fortunately, I had a few spare papers, because this tree took more papers than I first estimated. I started with 5 sheets, and I think I ended up using 7 sheets.

I tried to keep my embellishments simple as the paper patterns were already busy enough.

Right - one Christmas decoration done! Now, how many more do I have to do???

Happy scrapping everyone.
Make sure you come back on the 1st of August for lots more inspiration (PaperHaus and 7 Dots has a special event happening - not to be missed!!!)

Cheers and big hugs, x

 "YOU ARE PERFECT"
Oh boy, did I have some fun with these colours and papers. They spell FUN!!!!!!!

Lots of fussy cutting and layering, lots of colour, and even some stamping. :-)

Add in some butterflies, banners, and die cut frames. Oh, and some bling! ;-)

Lots of layering, lots of details.

And shock! Horror! I even used epoxy stickers (wonders will never cease).

Happy scrapping one and all!

PaperHaus Mini Book Tutorial...

I'm so sorry I've been missing in action, but I have just been insanely busy. There are absolutely NOT enough hours in a day. But I finally have a few minutes to myself, so I'm going to play blog catch-up, lol!

First up - a little mini album tutorial that I have shared on the PaperHaus blog. You can find all the details, and step-by-step instructions right here

I have to thank Natalie May for sharing this design with me. This is such a cute and simple mini-album to create. And I think they might make great Christmas gifts too!!! Time to get busy, I think! :-)

Materials Used: Kaisercraft Sweet Pea papers, stickers and die cuts; kraft cardstock; ribbon; metal die; kindy glitz; stick pins; Dimensional Magic; and foam tape.

The great thing about this album is that you can add more, or less photos, as you desire. And there is heaps of room for journalling if you desire.

Thanks for stopping by today. :-)

As Cute As A Button...

Today, I am sharing a "quick and simple" layout on the Purple Pumpkin blog.
Yeah, I'm going with that whole "less is more" thing. :-)

"AS CUTE AS A BUTTON"
This whole layout started with the kraft tags - I cut them up, added them to the page, and then the layout developed from there. Yes, really. That simple.

Lots of Purple Pumpkin goodies. I went for a red, yellow, and kraft theme, along with lots of polka dots.

I can honestly say this was a fun layout.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are having a great start to the week.
And I'll have more goodies to share with you by the end of the week (it's been school holidays, so now I have to play catch-up, lol!).

Cheers and hugs, x

Kaisercraft Basecoat...

I bet there are a lot of you who are going to fall in love with this range of papers. I did. :-)
The textures are just divine!!! And it's so very versatile.
Say hello to to the new Basecoat collection...

"MORNING MIST"
I captured this photo, early one morning, from our back yard. I love the cold, I love the mist, and I just wished it snowed here. (My husband doesn't feel the same way, lol!)

Look at those textures and details...sigh...love... oh, and addicted. ;-)
I even did some stamping on this layout - it's been a while.

That lace paper right there - that's my absolute favourite!
I think I need to stockpile!!!

Thanks for joining me. :-)

Kaisercraft Sweet Pea...

Now this is one of my all time favourite Kaisercraft ranges - Sweet Pea. I fell in love with this the moment I saw it. I'm not sure if it was the unusual colour combinations, or all the beautiful details. Either way, I was hooked!

I created two projects with the Sweet Pea range - first up is this cute little gift bag. And honestly, this was a lot easier than it looks. I am thinking I might need to make a few Christmas gift bags in the near future - keep an eye out for them in the next couple of months. :-)

"SWEET LOVE"
My second project with the Sweet Pea range was this gorgeous layout. Seriously, I just love these colours - which is saying a lot since I'm not usually a fan of orange or coral. But there is just something about this combination - it's bright, it's beautiful, and it's charming.

Here's a couple of close-ups. Lots and lots of details, including texture paste, and stamping. Oh, and stitching, and bling too! :-)

I hope you like this range too - because you'll be seeing a lot more of it from me, lol!
(Check back next week - I've even done a mini album).

Thanks for stopping by. It's been a pleasure sharing my creations with you today.

Kaisercraft Enchanted Garden...

It's time to share my first round of Kaisercraft projects with you. This week on the Kaisercraft blog, I am sharing all my projects from this month's new releases. Don't forget to stop by and check them out, plus all the other amazing inspiration from my team members. We've all been very, very busy.

My first project has been created with the Enchanted Garden range. I've had this Kaisercraft Fairy Castle Jewellery Box forever, just waiting for the perfect papers. And guess what? I finally found them!!!

I love these shades of blues and greens. So, so pretty and feminine.

And glittered fairies! Seriously, who an resist glittered fairies???

And in case you were wondering, yes, this jewellery box has already been claimed by my daughter...sigh...
Guess I has better make another one.

Remember Me "Blonde"...

Oh my, what a month! I'm sorry I've been MIA. I had to do a 2600km round trip across Australia to pick up my mum's stuff, and I'm still recovering. Plus it is school holidays here in South Australia, so my whole routine has gone out the door. :-(

"BLONDE {AGAIN}"
I just had to record this momentous event for the Paperhaus "Remember Me" segment. My husband, and daughters, have been waiting for years for me to go back to my natural blonde. And now it has finally happened, lol!

This project is also filled with Purple Pumpkin goodies, and you can view that blog post right here

Here's a few close-ups of all the goodies and details.
I've used the Fancy Pants Park Bench papers for this project - I just love those colours!

This layout actually started with the washi tape background. I wanted to showcase that particular item, so I used it to create a layered background.

And yes, I am enjoying being blonde again! :-)

PaperHaus July Sketch...

It's that time again - time for a new sketch over at PaperHaus!!!

PaperHaus July Sketch by Trina McClune.
Just pop on over to the PaperHaus blog for all the entry details, and to check out the awesome inspiration from the Design Team.

"LOVED BEYOND MEASURE"
I know it may not seem like it, but YES, I definitely did use the sketch as my inspiration, lol!

This layout was all about experimentation. I wanted to test how Silks Acrylics, Color Shine sprays, Glimmermists, and Pan Pastels all worked together. I guess I have my answer?

The blues and orange/red in this image are the Silks Acrylic paints. Such beautiful rich colours.

I have used Pink Paislee "Hopes Chest" papers for my background. Then added metal embellishments, flowers, lace, chipboard, rhinestones, sequins, and mini alphas.

I coloured these Pink Paislee Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas with mists, pan pastels, and Dimensional Magic. The multi-tone was pure luck, lol! :-)

I even used a mask and texture paste to create my background, before adding all the embellishments. And some doilies - I added those too.

I even added a metal banner. And can you see the little belt buckle that I have tucked in there? And stars? Oh, and did you notice the peacock too? (It's in the first picture).

I am learning to experiment more and more, and I am loving every minute!!!
This was pure fun.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope I have inspired you to go and try something new. :-) The more you experiment, the more you learn!!!
