Apple Phone addict...

Keana has always been the technology geek in our family. She is fascinated by computers, video games, phones etc. Anyway, my friend Marina came over today with her daughter Grace (who is in Keana's class at school). And she has one of the new Apple phones. And Keana just couldn't help herself. She had to have a play. The scary thing is, it didn't take her long to work it out - she was able to flick between different games and screens without a problem. Smart little cookie this one. Anyway, I was rather impressed with the phone myself and have put in my Mother's Day order. (-: I'm sure Keana will help point her father in the right direction if she knows that she will get to play with it too. (-:

A new addition...

We're getting a new addition to our family. No, I am NOT PREGNANT! This addition is of the four legged and furry kind. She is a Maine Coon. I can't wait to meet her (she is up at Hervey Bay, so we are going to do a weekend trip away to get her). I haven't named her yet. Will keep you posted on that.

Recent Layouts...

Did this one of my little girl being such a little lady. Malayla was just so cute and adorable doing this curtsey. Isn't she the sweetest?

This layout explains the reasons behind each of my daughters names. So many people ask me how and where I chose their names. Now everyone can know. (-:

This layout is based on Pencil Lines sketch #126. Had a lot of fun creating such a bright and girly layout.

Decided to have a play with some Kaisercraft paper, and this is what i came up with. Did this at the recent Passion For Paper Retreat. What a great weekend - we all had so much fun, even if we did have to unload our stuff in the rain.

Here's another PencilLines sketch (#125). I just love the new Bo-Bunny Papers. So bright, fresh and summery. And I've found a new love - Prima Obsession flowers. I know why they call them an Obsession. I can't get enough of them. (-:

Twilight The Director's Cut...

Look what I got!!! Twilight The Director's Notebook. My hubby loves me! And I have to send a big hug, kiss, and lots of thanks his way. (He flew out at 6am yesterday morning while I was away at a Scrapbooking Retreat).

But back to the reason for my ramblings - I came home to find a present in my lingerie drawer. Yes, I know it's a weird place to put it, but he knows I will at least look in that drawer at some point. The other drawers are not such reliable options. (-: Anyway, it was heavy, and obviously a book, but I had no idea what (especially since I already own all the Twilight series of books). So I opened it, utterly confused, until I saw the cover. It took me all of 1 micro-millisecond to realise what it was. And I was SO HAPPY I was jumping for joy.

So now I have a big smile on my face because I have another Twilight item to add to my collection - I now have all the books, the album, two audio CD's (Twilight and New Moon) , one key ring, and 3 book marks. Yes, I now it's an addiction, just like my scrapbooking, but I DON'T CARE! This is my happy place!

I'm off to do some reading...cheers...

One more for the collection...

The creation of this layout was quite unexpected. I had scraps left over from my "Who's The Bunny?" layout, and they were too pretty to throw away. However, they were perfect to create this layout based an a sketch challenge (#3) for the Scrap With V Cyber Crop. So here's the end result, which I am very happy with.

More layouts to share...

First up, I have completed a layout for Pencillines (http://www.pencillines.com/) . This is sketch #124. They release a new sketch every week.

This layout was created for Sine's Challenge (#2) over at the Scrap With V Cyber Crop. The challenge was to use only patterned paper (no cardstock), and in autumn colours. I just loved doing this challenge - it was a lot of fun, and I am very happy with the end result.

Here's the layout I created for the Mystery Class that I taught for the Scrap With V Cyber Crop. I wasn't too impressed with these papers at first, but they came together quitre nicely. Or at least I think so! (-:

Finally, my layout for the Scrap With V Cyber Crop DT Only Challenge. The challenge was to use bright colours, to stamp on an embellishment so as to alter it's look, use transparency, and use more than one photo. All done! I'm off to finish the next round of layouts...
This is my layout for the new Crafty Sketches (http://craftysketches.blogspot.com/) sketch that just went up on the blog. I really enjoyed creating this layout - it was, simply put, fun!!! Very happy and bright!

I created this layout for the Scraploot (http://scraplootscrappers.blogspot.com/) Blog Cyber Crop - Challenge #1. The challenge was to use a frame, ribbon and stitching. So here's the end result- again, nice and bright and cheery!

Bling Princess Mug!

Look what I found at Myers! My very own "Bling Princess" mug. Don't you just love the bling on the crown? How sweet is that. No, I didn't go into Myers specifically looking for this. I actually went to buy Easter Egss. This mug just happened to be sitting on the same table as all the eggs, so I decided it was fate, and meant to be mine. (-: It's my "calorie" free Easter gift to myself. Don't you think it suits me perfectly?

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Decided to try something new - here's my layout for a sketch challenge over at Scraploot's Blog Cyber Crop http://scraplootscrappers.blogspot.com/.

And a sneak peak at my layout for the Crafty Sketches (http://craftysketches.blogspot.com/) 15th March Sketch. Make sure you come and join us on Sunday for the new sketch. They are so much fun to do, and there are some lovely prizes up for grabs.

And on the lines of trying something new, I decided to try the White With 1 (http://whitewith1.blogspot.com/) challenge as well (told you I've been busy!). Be nice, because this is the first time I have ever attempted this, and it wasn't as easy as I thought. (-: But at least I know what to expect next month...
Come and join us this weekend over at Scrap With V (http://forum.scrapbookingwithvanessa.com.au/) for a weekend of Cyber Cropping. Lots of games and challenges available for all, with lots of fun and laughs thrown in. You'll find me there tomorrow night teaching a mystery class. Come on, don't be shy. The more the merrier. (-:

Here's Harry Norman!

Meet Harry Norman. He's part of a school project, and he has come home to stay overnight. He has to be photographed with his carer (Malayla) doing different things, then the photos are glued into the project book, and a little story is written about his adventures.
So, tonight Harry has had dessert, had a bath, gotten dressed in his PJ's, had a book read to him, and gone to bed with Malayla. I just hope an ordinary night at home with our family wasn't too boring for him? He might refuse to come back! (-:

How Can I Resist?

How can I resist her when she looks this sweet? I am defenseless. As a mother, I am not equipped to deal with such cuteness. They don't warn you about this when you decide to have children. In fact, they don't warn you about a LOT OF THINGS when you decide to become a parent! She has such an unfair advantage.

On another note, Keana had her audition for the movie today. It went well, and now we just have to wait for a decision. Could take anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks to find out. So we just have to be patient (not my best virtue) (-:

Guess what???

What do Pencillines (http://www.pencillines.com/) and this layout have in common? I'm January's Readers Gallery Sketch winner!!! Never in my wildest dreams did I expect this. It came from out of the blue, and knocked me sideways. But I am oh, so happy! So a big, big thank-you to Pencillines for all their wonderful sketches that I just LOVE doing every month.

More Twilight...

I just LOVE this quote from Twilight. It's my second favourite. "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb". My favourite quote is when Edward describes his addiction to Bella as his own personal brand of heroin. Wow! Can you imagine a love between two people that is so strong - just awesome! It gives me goosebumps.

I made the mistake of going into the bookstore yesterday. They now have Twilight bookmarks, bag clips/keychains, and posters. So I've added a few to my collection. (-: Plus the audio CD's as well - gives me something to listen to while I am at the gym or cleaning the house. That's my excuse, and i am sticking with it! (-:

Lights! Camera! Action!

Look mum! One hand only! Look at me wave...aaarrggghhhh!!! Keana has always been a climber. The first time she climbed one of these 9 foot (or is it actually taller than that?) climbing nets was when she was about 18-24 months old. Things haven't changed at 5 1/2 years old. Thank goodness this was after she had finished shooting her commercial (see below...). And thank goodness her daddy wasn't around to see this. He would have flipped out totally (she's still his little baby). (-:

Keana spent yesterday (2nd March) shooting a commercial for Qld Transport up at Kings Beach, Caloundra. They gave her this beautiful bright pink tankini to wear while playing in the kids fountain for the shoot. Poor darling - she didn't realise just how boring (and cold) it was going to be. The kids (4 of them) had to run through the fountain over and over again. Nearly two hours later they were finally finished for what will be maybe 4 seconds of film on the commercial. Go figure! But it's all about experience, so in that regard, it was good. Keep an eye out for the commercial - I think it should hit the TV by the end of April.

And she's off to another audition next Monday, but I cannot give away the details yet (but it's big!). I will let you know if she is successful. Here's keeping my fingers crossed...

Monthly 1,2,3 Challenge...

Yay! I finished my 1,2,3 Challenge layout with half an hour to spare. So here it is: shaped layout base (no circles or squares), nature theme, and no hearts.
