Oh my goodness...

What a week! Layouts to finish for the end of month deadlines, a trip to Lennon Bros circus, Malayla and Keana's first sleepover at a school friends place, Mother's Day shopping with daddy, a trip to White Water World, and Tony went back to work (finally, after 3 weeks!).

Don't you love Malayla's fashion sense (photo above)? This is the outfit that she chose and put together all by herself when Daddy told her they were going shopping for my Mother's Day present. I just love this coutnry cowgirl look. She even has a sparkly sequinned belt! I just love it - I think she is so cute (but as her mother I am, of course, biased). (-:

The circus was brilliant, but unfortunately I have no photos as they are not permitted. It is a shame becasue the performance is just magical, breath-taking and awesome! It took me back to the days when my mother used to take me to the circus. In fact, it was the same circus - Lennon Bros. They are the longest running circus in Australia - 150 years. The looks on my girls faces was priceless, and made it all worth while - they were spellbound. I am so happy that I have given them this experience.

I know people get upset about how animals are treated in the circus, and being kept in captivity, but these animals looked so healthy and beautiful. They wouldn't look like that if they were left to fend for themselves in the wild. I mean, when the lions came in, they absolutely took my breath away. They were so regal, huge and amazing. And they were treated so well. There was no evidence of cruelty. I just think it is a shame to take this expereince away from children. These are memories that they will keep forever, just like I have mine.

Here's the crew at White Water World. They had the best day ever, and they all slept really, really well that night, including their daddy! You see, my two have no fear - they go on all the rides and slides, and insist that their daddy joins them even though he seems to suffer from motion sickness. Hee! Hee! Hee!

Here's my card for week 2 of the Seven Deadly Sins Challenge over at Wicked Princesses. The challenge was Envy - and we had to scrap in green and black, use a transparency, add some doodling, and use a good luck theme. Voting commences 8am Saturday morning, and is open for 48 hours, until 8am Monday morning. Please feel free to browse through the gallery and submit your votes (wickedprincesses@y7mail.com). You are more than welcome.

This is my layout (Green Eyed Monster) for the Week 2 Challenge of the 7 Deadly Sins - ENVY. The layout had to be about what makes us jealous, or the "monsters" in our lives that scare us. We had to use green and black only, a transparency, and some doodling. I created this layout about my jealousy of others having the opportunity to visit NYC, but not me!

Here's my final layout to share for today. It's called My 2 Q T's (my two cuties). It's for the 1,2,3 Blog Challenge. This months challenge criteria was to scrap using 2 stamps and two different stamping techniques, paint splatters, and using only scraps from your stash. I am very happy with how this layout turned out because it is not my usual stayle of scrapping. This was a new adventure for me - much more artistic based. (-:. But I loved experimenting. Something I will definitely try again.

No exciting news to share...

Well, I was hoping to share some good news with you, but it's not to be. I applied for one of the Kaisercraft DT positions and missed out (yet again!). But I have uploaded my layouts and acrylic album which were part of my submission. I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed making them! Sorry the photos are in the wrong order, but I am still learning how to use blogger and haven't mastered the art of moving my photos around (yet!) this is the 5th and 6th pages of the album.
Here's the first and second pages of the album.

Here's the cover...

Here's my single layout that had to be about myself.

And a double layout with a theme of my choosing. And to rub salt into the wound, I missed out on a teaching position at Flourish Arte Studious over at Carina. It would have been a nice little experience for me. I would have really, really enjoyed working there. It's a very pretty little store, with lots of nice things, and lots of room to scrap. Oh well, I guess it will just have to be their loss, and I will have to keep trying for something better. I have the rest of the year to find something for me!

Wicked Princess Challenge - Week 1

Here's my layout for the first week of the Wicked Princesses 7 Deadly Sins Challenge. The challenge was to create a monochromatic purple layout, using bling and the title "It's All About Me!" Let's just say, after creating this layout, I'm OVER the colour purple, well and truly.

Here's our newest addition - PANDORA! She's 6 months old and beautiful. She LOVES water - just can't help herself - she has to PLAY in it! And she's in love with my husband (sigh!!!). Bloody typical female! And she will continue growing until she is five years old, so that gives you some idea of how big she will end up. (-:

White With 1...

I just wanted to share my latest layout with you. It's for the White With 1 blog site and has lots of paper cutting involved (I cut up a whole sheet of paper making this one). The challenge was to use the colour white, with the colour coral, and to journal on the photo. So, hey presto! Here it is.

Catching up...

Here's my take on the Aussie Pub Calls Roadmaps sketch for April. This one was a lot of fun, especially with this unexpected colour combination.

Here's my Crafty Sketches layout for the 31st March Sketch. The sketch was provided by KylieJ and you have until the 30th April to enter your layout.

Here's my layout for the 15th April sketch at Crafty Sketches. The sketch was provided by myself, and I just love the bright colours that I got to use. I just LOVE the papers by My Little Shoebox. They are fast becoming a favourite of mine.

Here's my two darlings with their Easter stash. We had a great time away on holidays, even if it did rain nearly the whole time. The girls spent their time swimming (it was a heated pool), playing games with their daddy, watching Men In Black and Star Wars, going to the movies, and visiting their great-grandfather. And a great time was had by all!!!

On Monday we went for a drive to Hervey Bay to pick up our new addition to the family - a Maine Coone cat. It was a long drive thanks to all the rain, but at least we didn't have any traffic going up there or coming back. We took the girls for a walk (and ice-cream) along the waterfront. They were fascinated by all the boats. It was so quiet and peaceful up there. So different from Brisbane.
Our new cat has since settled in but we have had trouble finding a name that suits her. We've gone through quite a few - Ruby, Bling, Masai, Cayenne and Vixen. But my mum suggested Pandora when I rang her tonight, and I really, really like that name. I think that is what we will probably go with. I will check with the girls in the morning. (-: Knowing my luck they won't like it, and I'll have to start again. She's a very, very long cat (you should see the size of her father - he was like a mini lion), she has a very long neck too, and is extremely inquisitive and playful. Will post some photos of her soon.

Hoppy, hoppy Easter...

Look at these adorable Easter bonnets that my girls made for their school Easter parade. Nanny helped a little with the Easter egg and little rabbits hat, but Malayla made the bunny ears hat all by herself. I am so proud of her!!!

Well, DH is finally back home, so we are off on holidays for a couple of days. Going to the Gold Coast to have some fun (if it stops raining long enough). (-:
And hopefully (fingers crossed), I may have some exciting news to share when I get back. No, I am NOT pregnant, and no, it is not to do with the new cat. It is scrapbooking related, and you will just have to be patient...(-:

Latest news...

I've just finished this layout for PencilLines Sketch#127. I decided to try the simple approach for this one, and I think I am ok with the result. It's definitely different to my usual style of scrapping, but it's fun to experiment occasionally. (-:

Now for the really exciting news!!! I've been accepted for the Aussie Pub Calls (APC) Creative Team. I am so happy! http://aussiepubcalls.com.au/?p=1043 (-: I get to do sketches, and play with kits, and help maintain their sister site, Aussie Pub Calls Roadmaps. I hope my work will inspire and encourage all those who join us.
